Bio

Susie Cunningham is a multi-creative working in
digital art as well as traditional art. Traditional works are watercolor,
acrylic, handmade paper, and paper sculpture. A life-long artist, she started
selling art when she was 17. Initially she worked in in watercolor and traveled
throughout the United States participating in juried art shows. Juried
exhibitions led to commissioned works for designers and architects. More than
150 of Cunningham’s murals created for art collectors, private individuals,
commercial businesses, schools and the City of Wichita exist in Kansas,
Oklahoma and Texas. Currently Cunningham works primarily in her urban studio on
the banks of the Little Arkansas River with a view of Mead Island, a designated wildlife area in Historic Midtown neighborhood.

Chronological Teaching Experiences:

2002 to present: Contracted as a Teaching
Artist for Arts Partners, instructing teachers and students in the USD 259
school district using integrated teaching skills to fortify learning in
science, technology, engineering, math, language arts and social studies.

1999-2001: Starkey Development. Community

Access Program Supervisor: helped special needs clients pursue outside art
interests, participate in creative activities and learn to keep a calendar.

1996 and 1997 summer. City of Wichita Arts

Center (now City Arts) in partnership with the Cultural Arts Division, Parks
and Recreation, City of Wichita: Seasonal part-time Art Instructor HUD Summer
Youth Employment. Created mural projects for teens seeking employment funded by
HUD. Assisted teens in the production of murals around the city while helping
them develop job-readiness skills.

1989-1991 Central College Instructor. Taught
computer-aided graphic design and print-industry related business.
